61 G2EASIA.COM | G2E ASIA CONFERENCE 2023 SPEAKER PROFILE WALT POWER Chief Executive Officer Walt Power, the CEO of The Grand Ho TramResort, is one of the longest serving executives in the Asian gaming industry. Power was instrumental in the development, opening and operation of Sands Macao, the first western casino in Macau. During his tenure, Sands Macao grew to become the largest and most financially successful casino in the world. A 30-year gaming industry veteran, he has accumulated extensive international experience through executive positions at casino resorts in the United States, Argentina, South Africa and the Philippines, in addition to his work in Macau and Vietnam. Power is a former United States Marine Corps Major and Naval Aviator. He served with the first International Peace Keeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon from August to November 1982, participating in the initial evacuation of non-combatants from that war torn country. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and is a multi-time medalist at the World Master Jiu Jitsu Championships.
