Some regulatory agencies are law enforcement agencies while others are not; some regulatory models use a prescriptive approach while others use a risk-based approach. Jurisdictions can learn from the experiences of Singapore, Macau and Australia but need to craft their approach based on the appropriate best practices that meet the policy needs of each jurisdiction. This session will address regulatory and law enforcement issues related to legalized gaming including anti- money-laundering controls, regulatory oversight of integrated resorts and other forms of gaming, the continuing evolution of socially responsible gaming, and the underlying policies of regulating gaming today.
