In September last year, the PJ arrested 19 individuals and 54 mainland Chinese women for allegedly operating a prostitution website back in 2009. The police continued to investigate the case and arrested two more men from Macau in February. One of them, a 58-year-old local, is a civil servant who has worked for the DICJ for 30 years but is suspected of operating as a deputy administrator or moderator of the prostitution website. According to the PJ, the website in question has been operating for more than 10 years, in which time it has generated illegal profit of more than MOP$12 million (US$1.5 million).
