Promoted to President and COO following the passing of his father-in-law and company founder Sheldon Adelson in January 2021, Patrick Dumont has wasted no time testing his financial brain power. Working closely with Chairman and CEO Rob Goldstein, the 45-year-old was instrumental in the US$6.25 billion sale of the company’s Las Vegas assets, with LVS shifting its focus to Asia while seeking various opportunities online. While there has not yet been any significant deployment of its cash stockpile, LVS did announce in June a “strategic investment” in US iGaming firm Huddle Tech Inc and has made no secret of its interest in developing an integrated resort in Thailand should the opportunity arise. In the meantime, the company remains one of Asia’s true integrated resort power players via its five Macau properties – giving it the largest footprint of any concessionaire – and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, long touted as the world’s most profitable casino. A former investment banker at Miller Buckfire and Bear Stearns, Dumont is married to Sivan Ochshorn, the daughter of Adelson’s widow Miriam Adelson.
