Although he has not revealed where, Goldstein did reveal that the project, should it proceed, would be of a similar scale to the company’s Singapore IR, Marina Bay Sands, according to an interview with Las Vegas Review-Journal . “I don’t want to say where, but we’ve had some rather interesting conversations with a major country there that has reached out to us,” Goldstein said. “It’s proprietary, but we’re looking to build something of scale much like Marina Bay Sands. A lot of countries in Asia have reached out to us over the years, but nothing’s happened. This one feels like it might be a major prospect. A major country, a top-tier country. I hope it’s real.” Goldstein has previously flagged the company’s intention to pursue new developments both domestically in the United States and in Asia following the recent US$6.25 billion sale of its Las Vegas assets. The company has expressed interest in Thailand and had been pursuing an IR license in Yokohama, Japan before withdrawing its bid in 2020. Fellow Las Vegas-based operator Wynn Resorts recently announced plans to develop an IR in the United Arab Emirates. Goldstein confirmed Japan is no longer on the Las Vegas Sands radar but noted that wherever the company ends up, it plans to implement the IR model that has served it well in Las Vegas, Singapore and Macau. “It depends on the jurisdiction, but obviously our preferred approach is an IR model with a multitude of offerings for customers ranging from casino, hotel, spa, convention, retail, restaurants and business centers,” he said. 拉斯維加斯金沙集團（LVS ）主席兼 行政總裁Rob Goldstein透露，公司 正在與亞洲的「一個主要大國」就開 發一個綜合度假村項目進行協商。 儘管並未透露項目的具體選 址，Goldstein在接受《Las Vegas Review-Journal》採訪時表示，如果 項目得以推進下去，規模將與公司的 新加坡IR項目濱海灣金沙具有類似的 規模。 Goldstein表示：「我暫時不想 透露具體的地點。但是已經與一個對 我們張開雙臂的主要國家進行了一些 頗為有趣的對話。」 「這將是獨有的，但我們希望建 立類似濱海灣金沙那樣的規模。多年 來，很多亞洲國家都接觸過我們，但 甚麼都沒有發生。今次這個項目似乎 頗有發展前景，因為這是一個頂級的 大國，我希望可以成真。」 Goldstein之前曾表示，早前以 62.5億美元出售其在拉斯維加斯資產 後，LVS有意在美國國內和亞洲尋求 新的發展。該公司此前曾表示對泰國 感興趣，並曾在日本橫濱提交了IR申 請，但後於2020年撤回。總部同樣 位於拉斯維加斯的運營商永利渡假村 則於近期宣佈有意在阿聯酋發展IR。 Goldstein證實，日本已經不在 LVS的關注範圍。但他指出，無論公 司未來方向為何，都計劃採取已經在 拉斯維加斯、新加坡及澳門發展得很 好的IR模式。 他表示：「這取決於司法管轄 區的意見，但顯然我們首選的是IR模 式，為客戶提供娛樂場、酒店、水療 中心、會議、零售、餐廳和商務中心 等多種產品。」
