The update, provided via a filing to the national StockExchange of India, follows an October 2017 announcement that Delta Corp had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Everest Hospitality and Hotel, the owners of the Marriott in Kathmandu, to lease space for the operation of a casino. The company said at the time that it was looking to “expand its imprint outside India.” Under Nepalese law, licensed casinos must be attached to a five-star hotel. There are currently six licensed casinos operating in Nepal of which five are located in Kathmandu.
