According to an ICAC statement, police launched an operation codenamed “Iron Triangle” which saw them raid a residential premises in Tsuen Wan out of which the illegal bookmaking syndicate was said to be operating. The 21 people arrested include two assistant trainers and four stable staff of HKJC plus 15 people involved in “corrupt and illegal bookmaking activities.” All are accused of providing privileged information to facilitate illegal bookmaking and control of race horses. “The HKJC has rendered full assistance to the ICAC during its operation,” the ICAC said. “The ICAC and the HKJC do not tolerate any corrupt activities. The two organizations will continue to liaise and cooperate closely to combat related crimes and keep horse racing in Hong Kong clean.” 香港 廉政公署證實，拘捕共21名人士，當中包括六名香 港賽馬會的職員。廉署稱懷疑他們涉及貪污，提供賽馬 的相關保密資料，以協助經營非法外圍賭博及操控馬 匹。 據廉署介紹，在其於11月9日展開名為「鐵三角」行 動，在荃灣一個住宅大廈搗破一個外圍投注集團。 該21名遭拘捕人士中，包括兩名香港賽馬會(馬會) 助理練馬師及4名馬房職員，以及15名涉及貪污和從事 收受非法投注的人士。 廉署稱，「馬會在廉署行動期間提供全面協助。廉署 及馬會絕不容忍任何貪污行為，雙方會保持緊密的聯繫 和合作，以打擊相關罪行，維護香港賽馬活動廉潔。」 馬會發表聲明表示，不會就廉政公署調查中的任何 個案發表評論。然而，「馬會希望在此重申，堅守誠信一 直是馬會的核心價值。」 「馬會絕不容忍任何員工的違法行為及活動。香港 賽馬會一直並將繼續與廉政公署緊密合作配合調查。」
