With 36% of market share, Solaire has set the standard for its Entertainment City rivals and, perhaps against the odds, established Manila as a gaming destination of choice. Not bad for a company with zero previous experience in gaming. Solaire’s gaming revenues have been rocketing skywards for the best part of four years now, reaching quarterly GGR of Php14.62 billion (US$281 million) and record EBITDA of Php5.0 billion (US$96 million) in the three months to 30 June 2018. Naturally, expansion has become a priority. Bloomberry recently began development of a US$300 million cruise ship terminal alongside Solaire that will accommodate up to two mega- cruise liners at a time and, conveniently, provide their passengers with easy access to its flagship casino resort.
