Inside Asian Gaming

INSIDE ASIAN GAMING | June 2013 38 TECH TALK D LV’s distinctive Diamond range of cabinets are becoming an increasingly familiar sight on Asia’s slot floors The Latvia-based slot manufacturer made its maiden foray into the continent in early 2010 with the first of several installations in Cambodia. More recently, it has expanded its presence to the Philippines. And, of course, DLV has become a regular presence at G2E Asia in Macau, confident it’s only a matter of time before the city’s casinos get wise to the virtues of its versatile and cost-effective multigame products. Under the spotlight at the DLV stand during last month’s show at The Venetian Macao was the company’s latest cabinet, the Diamond HD – Hybrid, featuring dual 24-inch screens, TITO and hopper support, as well as four speakers and subwoofers offering high-quality stereo sound. The company also unveiled new games, as well as its updated multigame package, Diamond Games Ultra, which builds on the success of previous Diamond Games offerings. “This is a completely new interface which has 25 games to choose from and is available only on the Diamond HD – Hybrid,” explains DLV Marketing Manager Oksana Sushinska. DLV also showed off the latest instalment of its Jewel Jackpot series, a progressive jackpot system that has enjoyed considerable success in Cambodia and worldwide. Whereas the previous Jewel Jackpot and Jewel Jackpot 2 offered only 10 games to choose from, Jewel Jackpot 3 has a selection of 15 games of various themes, with 5, 10 or 20 pay lines. As part of the company’s ongoing effort to expand its regional presence, DLV also showcased the Asian-themed Dragon Jackpot. It’s one of the company’s two new four-level mystery progressive jackpots, along with the baseball-themed Vollinstars. Both Dragon Jackpot and Vollinstars were presented at G2E Asia on the DIAMOND STD—Slant Top, equipped with dual 22” screens. DLV has good insight into the needs of smaller gaming operations—particularly the needs for operational and cost flexibility. As well as manufacturing slot equipment, the company runs slot halls in its home market, as well as in South America and Asia. The bulk of gaming revenue in Latvia is generated by slot clubs operating in a highly competitive environment. As DLV Chairman Mihail Volokotkin explains, by having to go head to head with major European manufacturers and operators in its domestic market, DLV has learned how to adapt its products to evolving market conditions. He stresses, “In addition to the proven game mathematics, rich sound and attractive graphics of our products, we have developed a culture of innovation and market-responsiveness that allows us to hold our own against the bigmanufacturers.” DLV prides itself on the competitive pricing and technical robustness of its products, and its speed and flexibility in responding to clients’ needs. The company has come a long way since it was established in Latvia in 1994. Its internationally certified machines are now purchased in 33 countries in Europe, Asia and South, Central and North America.
