Inside Asian Gaming

March 2012 | INSIDE ASIAN GAMING 29 TransAct Real-time promotional tool—TransAct’s Epicentral®Print System system. It’s validated through a scanner that scans the barcode of the ticket that’s issued. The ticket printer can either be integrated inside the AWP game or older generation slot, or outside the machine, along with the scanning station. It provides the security to make sure each ticket presented for payment of a prize is valid and can’t be paid twice. A validated winning ticket can either be hand paid at a cash desk or—and many customers are trying to eliminate the cash desk—it can be paid via the ThomasPay automated pay station. That will take a TITO ticket in, and offer bills and coins out. It allows the pubs and clubs market to be able to offer ticket out, as well as being able to validate hand pays. It’s cost effective and self-contained. There’s no need for a separate PC. There’s just a simple dongle that connects into the system. It’s really a natural [solution] for older-generation gaming machines because it converts those signals that would normally drop coins into a hopper into a signal that will drive a ticket out [process]. Is there a market for ThomasPay in Asia? I think there’s also quite a bit of interest in the Asian market as well—in smaller casinos that perhaps aren’t ready to invest in a full TITO system. They might have 50 or 100 [gaming] machines but they would like to offer that ticket out capability to streamline their operation. This will be applicable for them as well.
