Inside Asian Gaming

INSIDE ASIAN GAMING | July 2010 32 A fascinating newcomer on the floor at G2E Asia was Panter Electronic Roulette from Slovenia’s Panter Gaming. It’s a single player roulette with a difference, because the player gets to fire the ball onto the wheel via a pinball-style launcher. “Our idea was that you can be the croupier and the player at the same time. You have the feeling of controlling the ball,” says the game’s inventor Gino Dominico. “Previously I was involved in electronic roulettes. With this product I wanted to do something unique and something that was mechanical, not using air or something like that. “People love it. Because the player decides when to launch the ball in the game they get the feeling of having influence on hitting the winning number. That means they want to play again and again,” says Mr Dominico. Panter Gaming recently became part of Austria’s Novomatic Group, which is providing marketing support for the product. “Chinese people love the product because they get to interact directly with the game,” says David Orrick, Novomatic’s Communications & Business Development Director. “It’s not actually a manipulation by the player because the game is certified and governed by the rules of roulette,” he stresses. “Engineering the game to guarantee the number of spins took one year to solve,” adds Gino Dominico. “We have machines now in Belgium, Spain and Holland and we expect GLI certification in one or two months. We think it will be a hit in Asia too,” he adds. Panter Gaming Pinball Wizard Panter Gaming introduces a roulette game with a difference Gino Dominico
