PokerStars LIVE has found a new Manila home, moving from its long-term base at City of Dreams Manila to a new location at Okada Manila.
News of the poker room’s relocation was hidden away in a press release announcing the details of the upcoming Megastacks Manila tournament series, to be held from 7 to 16 December 2018, with the company stating, “The Manila Megastack next month has a new venue, the luxurious Okada Manila, which will be the new home of PokerStars LIVE Manila.”
The new room will be located in the Coral Wing and will offer eight cash game tables during normal operations.
The company’s departure from City of Dreams Manila, where it has operated since 2015, follows a similar exit from City of Dreams Macau in April.
Hong Kong’s International Entertainment Corp (IEC) subsequently signed a collaboration agreement in May with The Stars Group to operate land-based live events and poker rooms under the branding of PokerStars in certain Asian countries including Macau, with Chairman Stanley Choi telling Inside Asian Gaming he was in negotiations to run some events at Studio City, although there has been no progress on that front since.
IEC’s deal with The Stars Group does not cover the Philippines.
