Leading Korean foreigner-only casino operator Paradise Co enjoyed a second straight month of sequential growth, with casino sales rising by 30.2% month-on-month and 4.1% year-on-year to KRW80.2 billion (US$59.9 million).
The result came on the back of strength across the board, with the company’s gaming table segment booking a 32.1% sequential increase to KRW75.5 billion (US$56.4 million) and machine revenue a 5.7% increase to KRW4.72 billion (US$3.5 million).
Table drop of KRW667.5 billion (US$498 million) was also up 23.1% over July and 16.9% over the same period in 2023.
Casino revenues for the first eight months of 2024 combined are now up 14.3% to KRW561.1 billion (US$419 million) on a 17.8% improvement in drop to KRW4.64 trillion (US$3.46 billion).
Paradise, which recently revealed plans to develop a luxury hotel in Seoul and upgrade its VIP gaming areas to improve its appeal to international guests, operates four casinos in Korea including integrated resort Paradise City in Incheon – a joint venture with Japan’s Sega Sammy – plus casinos in Seoul, Busan and Jeju.
