Philippines integrated resort Solaire turns 10 today and according to reports has celebrated its milestone by setting a new monthly gross gaming revenue record.
The Inquirer reports that Solaire, which first opened its doors on 16 March 2013, recorded GGR of Php6.8 billion (US$124 million) in January, based on information from a “ranking source”.
“We saw that record even without a significant presence of mainland Chinese gamblers and junket operations,” the source is alleged to have said. “All that came from the local market, plus some Korean players based in the Philippines.”
Parent company Bloomberry Resorts previously reported that mass gaming revenues at Solaire had fully recovered during 4Q22, helping Solaire to an 84% year-on-year increase in GGR to Php14.7 billion (US$267 million). Bloomberry is also preparing for the opening of its second integrated resort with Solaire Resort North in Quezon City scheduled for launch in early 2024.
Meanwhile the original Entertainment City property is gearing up to celebrate a decade in action by holding a month of festivities.
These celebrations will include the arrival of 10 Michelin-star chefs for a week of “Gastronomic Indulgence” in five of Solaire’s restaurants, while international music star Sting will perform two sold-out shows at The Theatre at Solaire on 17 and 18 March, followed by an eight-show residency by 16-time Grammy winner David Foster.
