Philippines gaming conglomerate Leisure & Resorts World Corporation (LRWC) has announced a change of company name to DigiPlus Interactive Corp.
With the change effective immediately, DigiPlus President Andy Tsui said the new name better reflected the company’s corporate identity.
“As the company welcomed this change, we strategically thought and created a stronger identity that will help us to become the best version of what we are as a company – fun, innovative, digitized, technologically advanced and most of all, collaborative,” Tsui said.
“We’re very thrilled to share with all of you what we have prepared this year.”
DigiPlus’s interests include the leasing of slot machines and operation of slot arcades on behalf of PAGCOR, while in September 2021 it was granted accreditation from PAGCOR to launch a new retail and online sportsbook for local users – the third such company to receive online sports betting accreditation alongside MegaSportsWorld and Jade SportsBet.
Another product, BingoPlus, became the first online traditional bingo game to be licensed by gaming regulator PAGCOR when launched in February 2022.
DigiPlus had previously outlined plans to build a casino resort on Boracay, possibly in cooperation with Macau’s Galaxy Entertainment Group, although both companies have since gone silent on any such development.
Under its new name, DigiPlus said Tuesday that customers could “expect better services and products from all of the company’s subsidiaries and related companies.”
