G2E Asia hit the road in 2022, relocating from its traditional home of Macau to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore where more than 4,500 attendees celebrated the show’s long-awaited return.
More than 4,500 visitors made their way to Marina Bay Sands in late August as G2E Asia ventured outside of Macau for the first time in its 14-year history.
Held at Singapore’s Sands Expo & Convention Centre, G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore saw around 60 exhibitors set up shop for three days from 24 to 26 August, including the likes of leading suppliers Jumbo Technology, Konami Australia, Weike, Aruze, Interblock, Sega Sammy Creation and Abbiati.
There was also strong representation from the iGaming industry, including Digitain, BETER, Endorphina, Betconstruct and Pinnacle, while cloud and data providers boasted a strong presence across the exhibition floor.
As Lead Media and production Partner of G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore, Inside Asian Gaming hosted a series of digital live-streamed guided tours in which IAG’s Managing Editor Ben Blaschke visited the stands of exhibitors to discuss the return of G2E Asia and their latest innovations for the global gaming industry.
“It’s great to be in Asia,” said Konami’s Operations Manager Sales, Marketing and Service for ANZ and APAC, David Punter.
“Everyone is buzzing a bit to be here and we thought we would host a small stand just to showcase some of our new cabinets and new games. There is some good content coming out of Australia and the US, and hopefully that will deliver what we need to for the Asian market.”
Mitsuhiro Miyazaki, Aruze Gaming’s SVP of Product Management – Asia Pacific, added, “Since COVID started we didn’t have G2E Asia for three years, so this is a great moment. I’m excited to be here to meet our customers from the Asian countries and to have a lot of meetings booked in.”
IAG also organized the G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore conference, which was launched via a keynote speech by Ed Bowers, MGM Resorts’ President of Global Development, who discussed at length the company’s bid to develop a large-scale integrated resort in Osaka, Japan.
Among the notable panel sessions was a wide-ranging discussion on emerging Asian markets and another on the changing face of the Macau market, while Hai Ng, co-founding partner of Neomancer LLC, hosted a series of panel sessions dedicated to eSports. Among the notable speakers to appear at the conference across the three days of sessions were Daesik Han, Chairman and CEO of the Hann Casino Resort in Clark, Philippines, Chen Si, COO of South Korea’s Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon, Ken Jolly, Vice President and Managing Director, Asia for Light & Wonder, and Angela Hanlee, APAC Gaming & Hospitality Analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence.
