Hong Kong media is reporting that the second wife of Stanley Ho, Lucina Azul Laam Jean Ying, passed away last Saturday 11 June after a long illness. She was 79.
According to Hong Kong 01, Laam passed away of cancer at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital.
Born in Zhejiang Province, Laam’s father and grandfather were both soldiers. After she finished her studies, Stanley Ho took her as his second wife in accordance with the Qing Law at the time. She and Stanley Ho had five children, each of whom have become well-known figures in the Macau and Hong Kong communities.
Their four daughters, from oldest to youngest, are Pansy Ho who is Co-Chairman and Executive Director of MGM China, Daisy Ho who is Chairman and Executive Director of SJM Holdings, Maisy Ho who is a director of Shun Tak Group and Josie Ho who is a singer and actress in Hong Kong. Their only son and youngest child Lawrence Ho is Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts and Melco International Development.
Her death comes two years after Dr Stanley Ho passed away in May 2020 at the age of 98.
