SJM Resorts, S.A., in partnership with Orbis, is currently hosting a three-day series of educational and fundraising events aimed at changing the lives of visually impaired children by providing eye-care.
The events include an “Eye Health Seminar” for SJM employees and the “Orbis Raffle 2022” charity sale, with SJM donating a prize to the raffle worth MOP$60,000 (US$7,500).
At the “Eye Health Seminar”, held at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau on Wednesday, employees wore blindfolds to experience life in a world of darkness. SJM Chairman Daisy Ho, Orbis Macau Director of Development Isabel da Silva and members of the SJM management team also attended the seminar.
It added that Orbis has set up “Help kids see the colours of the world” Raffle Charity Sales counters in SJM’s back-of-house areas of Grand Lisboa Palace between 25 and 27 May with the goal of encouraging employees to support Orbis by raising vital funds needed to restore the sight of visually impaired children in developing countries.
“SJM is very pleased to join hands with Orbis Macau to brighten the lives of children with eye diseases,” said Daisy Ho.
“We hope that by hosting a series of engaging and meaningful events, our employees will gain a much deeper understanding of eye care and more people in our community will be encouraged to care about those who suffer from eye diseases.”
Ms da Silva, added, “I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to SJM for promoting the importance and emphasising the need for education for eye care. I am also grateful to SJM for supporting our global effort in the fight against avoidable blindness and bringing hope to more patients who suffer from eye diseases.”
