Melco Resorts & Entertainment hosted a Melco Han Hero Chinese Knowledge Competition for staff at Studio City on Wednesday, aimed at instilling patriotism and appreciation for mainland China by strengthening their Chinese cultural knowledge.
The event saw staff from eight teams in different departments take part, with officiating guests including Mr Yang Yi, Deputy Director of the Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government; Ms Irene Lou, representative of the Director of Cultural Affairs Bureau and Curator of Macau Museum; Mr Wong Kin Mou, Head, Department of Educational Research and Planning, Education and Youth Development Bureau; and Ms Chan Kuan Chong, President of Macau Youth Education Promotion Association. All were welcomed by Dr Kent Wong, Chief Advisor of Melco.
Ms Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Chairman and CEO of Melco, said, “Melco has prioritized national education and developed a vast array of programs for the purpose of creating national pride.
“The Competition provides an effective platform for colleagues to enhance understanding and interest in Chinese culture and heritage, thereby increasing the sense of national belonging. We will continue to create programs to further build patriotism among our colleagues.”
