Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR has issued a warning against fake agents acting as PAGCOR employees to engage in transactions with local businesses, including some Casino Filipino branches.
According to an advisory issued this week, the fraudsters have been posing as PAGCOR employees by using fake documents and forging the signatures of real PAGCOR staff in order to sell supplies such as pastries and bottled water. They are also demanding large up-front fees in order for the target businesses to secure contracts with the regulator.
PAGCOR has asked anyone engaging with any PAGCOR employees in regards to business transactions to verify the agent’s identity by contacting them via phone or email.
PAGCOR’s Casino Filipino branches across the National Capital Region, including Metro Manila, remain closed as the country continues to battle its latest wave of COVID-19.
