The AGEM Index, a monthly stock performance guide comprising 13 global gaming suppliers, surged by 12.3% in April, driven by strong improvement in the stock prices of slot machine giants Scientific Games and Aristocrat.
The index rose by 94.30 points from March to 858.43 points, with Scientific Games the standout performer as its stock price grew 51.9% from US$38.52 to US$58.52. Scientific Games was responsible for 49.89 points of the AGEM Index’s monthly growth.
Aristocrat wasn’t far behind, adding 30.91 points due to an 8.2% stock price gain from AU$34.35 to AU$37.17.
In total, 11 of the 13 companies on the index recorded gains in April.
The major stock indices also performed well with the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 experienced monthly gains of 5.4 % and 5.2% respectively, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up by 2.7%.
The AGEM Index is compiled by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM).
