Suncity Group has revealed it is in the process of establishing three new restaurants in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing under its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun Food and Beverage.
The restaurants are part of Chongqing’s “Luzu Temple District Renovation Project” which aims to restore the area around historical Luzu Temple to its former glory. According to a Monday announcement, Sun Food and Beverage has already launched two thematic restaurants in Chongqing in a pilot phase, namely Macanese restaurant “Porto” and hotpot specialist “Gu Bao Wang”.
A third outlet, creative coffee shop “3% Mixology” serving alcoholic coffee drinks, is also in the works and will open later this year.
Suncity said the new restaurants were part of its efforts to introduce Macau delicacies to Mainland China.
“Since its establishment, Sun Food and Beverage [has strived] to broaden the business horizon in both Macau and the Mainland through enhancing quality dining experiences,” the company said. “Meanwhile, it attaches great importance to the preservation and promotion of Macau’s local gastronomy and is committed to the diverse development of the culinary culture in Macau and the Mainland.”
The Sun Food and Beverage portfolio includes seven branches of its Southeast Asian restaurant brand “Danang Vietnamese Cuisine” as well as eight unique restaurants in Macau, among them SKY 21, Tian Chao and Hot Pot Master.
