Hong Kong-listed Landing International Development Ltd has announced the appointment of a new Executive Director tasked with overseeing the hotels and theme parks at the company’s South Korean integrated resort, Jeju Shinhwa World.
Huang Wei, aged 39, has been appointed effective immediately for a fixed one year term, after which he will be eligible for reappointment on successive one year terms.
According to Landing’s announcement, Huang will be responsible for the “senior operation and management of hotels and theme parks of the Group” which currently comprise only those found at Jeju Shinhwa World, located on Jeju Island.
Huang is said to have graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law with a bachelor degree of International Economics and Trading and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He was previously a director of Guanghe Landscape Culture Communication Co and has more than 10 years’ experience in the finance and travel industries, Landing said.
The company recently reported a loss of HK$2.12 billion (US$272 million) in FY2020, similar to its 2019 loss due to higher non-gaming revenue making amends for a decline in Landing’s gaming business.
