Yokohama city has announced that it will hold the Yokohama Innovation IR Online Symposium on Saturday 27 March.
The session, running from 13.00 to 14.30 Japan time, will not have a live audience on the day due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will be shown on YouTube instead.
The theme of the event is “Goals for a Yokohama Innovation IR”. There will be an opportunity to hear opinions from a variety of panelists about “Yokohama Innovation IR” offering their perspectives on how Japan’s tourism, MICE, resorts and entertainment sectors will look in a post-COVID world.
Hiroyuki Kishi, Professor, Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, will give a special lecture on the theme of “The Potential of a Yokohama Innovation IR” as well as appearing on a panel about “Expectations for Yokohama Innovation IR.”
Other speakers will include Director, Faculty of Urban Sciences at Yokohama National University and Professor of Graduate School of Urban Innovation, Yu Kawazoe; Certified Accountant/Partner, KPMG AZSA LLC, Kentaro Maruta; and curiously, comedian Tomoko Murakami.
Yokohama launched its RFP in January with the goal of selecting an operator partner in the summer.
