Macau concession holder Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) has announced that it will provide eligible employees with a bonus, described as a “Living Subsidy”, to be paid in two equal payments in January and July, starting from this week.
The living subsidy will see employees with monthly salaries under MOP$20,000 receive an extra two months of salary while those earning more than MOP$20,000 will receive either one-and-a-half months’ salary or a cash bonus of MOP$40,000.
The first of the two equal payments will be made this Wednesday 6 January 2021.
“We would like to thank our staff members for their diligent work and dedicated support amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said SJM Chairman, Daisy Ho.
“SJM fully supports the preventive measures taken by the Macau SAR Government. Entering 2021, we stand in solidarity with the Macau people in safeguarding the health and safety of the community, and in welcoming a bright new year.”
The payment forms part of SJM’s current three-year bonus scheme for employees running from 2020 to 2022, with the most recent payment – a “summer living subsidy” – paid out on 3 July 2020.
SJM, which reported a loss of HK$1 billion in the three months to 30 September 2020, is preparing to open its HK$39 billion (US$5 billion) Cotai integrated resort Grand Lisboa Palace in the coming months.
