MANAGING DIRECTOR
Macau Jockey Club

POWER SCORE: 606
POSITION LAST YEAR: ONES TO WATCH

CLAIMS TO FAME

  • Principal shareholder in Macau junket Golden Group with close ties to SJM
  • Interests in multiple satellite operators

A longtime powerbroker within Macau’s gaming industry, Li Chi Keung is perhaps best known for his role overseeing Macau Jockey Club, and as the man behind Macau Slot Co Ltd – the sole licensed sports betting operator in Asia’s casino hub.

Yet his interests spread far and wide. Closely tied to SJM Holdings, he is a principal shareholder in secretive junket operator Golden Group and is said to hold stakes in multiple satellite casinos, including Macau Legend Development Ltd.

In fact, those in the know say his influence runs so deep it would be near impossible to fully explain the depths of his power – presenting an intriguing side story to the impending re-tendering of gaming licenses in 2020.

Li is known to be a close friend of former Macau Chief Executive Chui Sai On, with whom he lunches regularly.
