Inside Asian Gaming is pleased to announce that the next installment of its GAME interactive online business insights platform will take place next Thursday 27 August at 5pm Macau time, featuring Joji Kokuryo, Managing Director of Bay City Ventures, as special guest. Attendance will be free of charge.

Titled “Japan: where to now?”, the sixth instalment of GAME will see Kokuryo and IAG Vice Chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott discuss a range of important issues impacting the development of Japan’s integrated resort industry. These issues include the impact of COVID-19, the likelihood of delays to the IR development timeline, the recent withdrawal of major operators and examination of those remaining, operator concerns, cultural and language differences and potential election impacts among other topics.

Following their discussion, Andrew and Joji will take part in a 25-minute AMA (ask me anything) session during which GAME members will be able to ask them anything they wish. GAME 6 will run for a total of 50 minutes.

Andrew was behind the foundation of IAG Japan in January 2019 and had, until COVID-19, been visiting Japan monthly for several years. He has chaired and spoken at numerous conferences in Japan about the development of Japan’s IR industry and is in regular contact with key industry stakeholders such as politicians, bureaucrats and operators. He provides consulting services to investors and those looking to enter the Japan market.

Joji Kokuryo is a Japanese national currently residing in Yokohama, Japan. He has senior management experience in the gaming industry, most notably in operations and regulatory compliance. He currently runs Tokyo-based consulting firm Bay City Ventures Ltd, which focuses on gaming, entertainment and sports business. He is also a technical advisor for the International Gaming Standards Association’s Japan branch.

Only GAME members will be able to attend the online interactive event. For more information on GAME and to join the 464 current GAME members (at no charge), visit www.iaggame.com.

IAG is also planning further GAME events in the near future and is in the process of inviting the three nominees recently voted by GAME as the speakers they want to hear from most – Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho, SJM Holdings Chairman Daisy Ho and Las Vegas Sands SVP and Chief Casino Officer Andrew MacDonald.
