Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment has named long-time President and General Manager of flagship property Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, Ray Pineault, as the group’s new Chief Operating Officer.
Pineault, who replaces the recently departed Michael Silberling, will assume the role, pending regulatory approval, with the goal of enhancing Mohegan’s performance and helping guide the group through the COVID-19 pandemic.
He will be tasked with overseeing Mohegan’s regional presidents to ensure the operational success of each of the company’s nine properties, including Inspire Korea – currently being developed in Incheon.
“The entertainment industry has faced challenges this year due to the pandemic, but I am proud of the way our team members have stepped up and set Mohegan on a path of positive momentum, with strong performance across all properties since our reopenings,” said Mohegan’s CEO and President, Mario Kontomerkos.
“From the beginning, it has been our mission to build the best executive team in the industry, and I believe we are on our way to achieving that status with a veteran like Ray at the helm.”
