The Venetian Macao’s food and beverage department has received ISO 22000:2018 certification for its food safety management system, making it the first and only integrated resort in Macau to have received the certification, according to Sands China. It is also the sixth ISO certification received by Sands China to date.
The award recognizes the safety of The Venetian Macao’s operation in providing chilled food to the company’s food and beverage outlets.
ISO 22000 is used by organizations around the world to manage food safety, providing a consistent and objective standard of quality and safety for companies and consumers.
“Sands China is very pleased to have received this latest ISO certification,” said Tom Connolly, SVP of Food and Beverage Operations.
“Food safety is of upmost importance for our operational team, and we have stringent standards in place to ensure our success in that critical area. The company’s thanks goes to our food and beverage team members for their diligence in maintaining the highest standards, which has led to this certification.”
Sans China added the award is a result of the strong emphasis it places on management taking responsibility and showing leadership by ensuring the consultation and participation of team members in the development, planning, implementation and continual improvement of the food management system.
ISO certifications are awarded by the London-based British Standards Institution (BSI) Group, the world’s largest national standards and certification body, which audits and provides certification to companies worldwide who implement and comply with its management systems standards.
