Clarion Gaming has announced that it has postponed next year’s ICE London at ExCeL London Exhibition Centre until 20 to 22 April 2021.
Originally scheduled for 2 to 4 February, the world’s largest annual gaming industry trade show and exhibition was shifted due to concerns due to concerns over the status of global travel restrictions so early in the new year.
“In our ongoing discussions with the market it has become clear that the disruption and impact of the pandemic was causing some doubt and nervousness about our traditional February dates,” said Clarion Gaming’s Managing Director, Kate Chambers.
“As the Clarion Gaming brands exist to satisfy the needs of the market – exhibitors, delegates and speakers – we have moved the 2021 dates to April 20/21/22 once again at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre.
“While the world is likely to be in a much better place in April 2021, I’m certain that we will experience more bumps in the road. However, I’m confident that with the on-going support of the ICE London and iGB Affiliate communities as well as the dedication of the Clarion Gaming team, we can navigate those challenges and deliver events that all sectors of the international industry want and need.”
The 2020 edition of ICE London, held from 4 to 6 February, was one of the industry’s last major trade shows to successfully take place before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold globally.
As reported by Inside Asian Gaming in late March, ExCeL London was converted into NHS Nightingale Hospital London, a makeshift COVID-19 field hospital under the operation of the National Health Service. On 4 May, it was announced that the hospital would be put on standby, as no new COVID-19 patients were expected to be admitted.
