MGM China President Hubert Wang will make a special appearance when MGM China unveils its Fliggy flagship store via live stream at 7pm (Macau time) tonight.
The live stream coincides with the finale of the 618 (18 June) Shopping Festival spearheaded by major retail platforms such as Taobao and JD.com.
Wang will showcase MGM Cotai to viewers in mainland China, taking part in light-hearted discussion with the live stream hosts – 2019 Miss Macau Bobo Leong and popular blogger Tak Tak.
MGM said it was the first hospitality group in Macau to take on a live stream sale via Taobao and Fliggy, with its inaugural live stream session having taken place on 3 June followed by another session by MGM ambassadors on 11 June.
“Since the soft-opening of MGM Flagship Store on 3 June, we have seen a 711% growth in fan base on MGM’s Fliggy store in just the last two weeks,” MGM said.
Wang’s impending appearance comes just days after Sands China President Wilfred Wong also jumped onto Fliggy to promote Sands properties via his own light-hearted video.
Wang, formerly MGM China’s VP of Finance and CFO, was recently named President and Chief Operating Officer overseeing Business Development, Casino Operations, Hospitality, Security and the Digital & Technology Solutions divisions. The promotion sees him assume a key leadership role following the retirement of Grant Bowie as CEO.
