Yokohama city has released a video on the city’s website detailing the reasons behind its IR bid and countermeasures for problem gambling and security.
The video is 20 minutes in length and titled, “For Yokohama’s Bright Future – Yokohama Innovation IR.” It emphasizes the contribution an IR facility will make to the development of social activities in a declining and aging population.
On Wednesday, the city announced it would make informational videos for those areas that have not yet hosted a residents’ briefing. In the videos, Mayor Fumiko Hayashi will discuss the background of Yokohama’s decision to bid for an IR and will answer a range of anticipated questions. In addition to streaming over the internet, the city is also considering mailing or lending out DVDs.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, six of the 18 wards in the city have not yet held their scheduled briefings. Mayor Hayashi said she remained unsure when these briefings could resume because of the risks associated with crowds.
