Australian-listed Donaco International Ltd says it has reopened its casino at Aristo International Hotel in Lao Cai, Vietnam, following the government’s decision to ease restrictions on non-essential service establishments.
However, the casino is operating on a limited basis given the nearby border with China, where the majority of Aristo’s guests originate, remains closed.
In a filing, Donaco said it is “optimistic that the COVID-19 situation will continue to improve in the region Aristo operates in and this is a positive step towards the resumption of normal operations.
“Donaco remains committed to monitoring the dynamic COVID-19 situation closely to ensure the health and wellbeing of Aristo’s staff and visitors.”
Donaco recently revealed an estimated cash burn of up to US$900,000 per month while its casinos in Vietnam and Cambodia were closed, adding it has cash reserves to survive for more than a year. Star Vegas in Poipet has yet to be reopened after closing its doors in late March.
