Primary schools in Macau are preparing to resume in phases from 25 May, a positive sign that life in the SAR is continuing to return to normal.
Primary classes for grades 4 through 6 are planned to reopen on 25 May, while classes for grades 1 to 3 will reopen on 1 June. Parents can apply to delay sending their children back to school pending assessment of their reasons.
The resumption of kindergarten classes will be determined at a later date with officials from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau noting this might take place after the summer holiday.
The return of schools comes as one more patient recovered from COVID-19 on Monday taking the total number of recoveries to 42 and leaving just three patients remaining in hospital.
A total of 164 people are still undergoing quarantine in Pousada Marina Infante, including 107 residents, 23 non-resident workers and 34 visitors.
