The Center for Reflection, Study and Dissemination of Macau Law (CREDDM) and the Rui Cunha Foundation will host a special webinar tonight examining the long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Macau’s gaming industry.
Titled “Macau’s gaming industry beyond COVID-19”, the webinar will feature a variety of speakers including Carlos Noronha, Associate Professor at the University of Macau and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Macau Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility in Greater China; Alidad Tash, Managing Director of gaming and IR consultancy firm 2nt8 Limited; and Óscar Alberto Madureira, Lawyer at Lektou, Notaries and Lawyers in Macau.
It will be moderated by the President of Macau Portuguese and English Press Association, José Carlos Matias.
“The crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic poses unprecedented challenges at a global scale, taking a heavy toll on people’s lives and businesses,” the Rui Cunha Foundation explained.
“Macau’s core industry, gaming and tourism, has been dealt a significant blow. As the city is weathering the storm, all eyes are on the ‘new normal’ which will surface once the crisis is over. Corporate social responsibility and sustainability are key words to pave the way for the recovery.”
The webinar starts at 6pm Wednesday (Macau time) and is open to the public on the Rui Cunha Foundation facebook page, with all speeches and discussion to be delivered in English.
