The makeup of Inside Asian Gaming’s 2019 Asian Gaming Power 50 list reflects the increasing competition the gaming and leisure industry is facing all across Asia, according to IAG CEO Andrew W Scott.
Speaking at a business breakfast organized by the British Chamber of Commerce at The St Regis Macao on Wednesday morning, during which he outlined the mathematical mechanism used to determine the annual “Big 50” list, Scott said, “The competition has really intensified both here in Macau and further abroad throughout Asia.”
During Wednesday’s talk, Scott analyzed the strengths and challenges faced by each of this year’s top 10 and considered by the nine member judging panel. He also discussed the outlook for 2020 for each of the top 10, as well as for Asia’s gaming industry in general.
The 2019 Asian Gaming Power 50 was unveiled at a Gala Dinner at JW Marriott, Galaxy Macau, on Friday 1 November with Galaxy Entertainment Group Vice Chairman Francis Lui narrowly claiming top spot from Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson.
