Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has announced that luxury lifestyle hotel brand Andaz will open its first Macau hotel, Andaz Macau, in 2021 as part of Galaxy Macau’s new Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC).
Andaz Macau will boast more than 700 rooms and suites, Galaxy revealed on Tuesday, plus a dedicated check-in lounge catering to large MICE groups, an Andaz lounge, a bar and restaurant, state-of-the-art fitness center and an indoor pool.
“Today’s luxury traveler is increasingly seeking out unique experiences and the opportunity to become truly immersed in a destination’s culture,” said Galaxy Entertainment Group Vice Chairman, Francis Lui, who topped Inside Asian Gaming’s 2019 Asian Gaming Power 50 list unveiled last week.
“We are delighted to meet this need with the addition of Andaz Macau to our Galaxy Integrated Resorts precinct.
“Macau has many stories to tell and is rich in history and culture. With Andaz Macau, we will work closely with Hyatt to create experiences that truly showcase what is special about this destination, while further contributing to the strength of Macau’s tourism and MICE industries.”
Galaxy announced in August that GICC – which it described as Asia’s most technologically advanced event facility– would form part of Galaxy Macau’s Phase 3 development.
When open, GICC will cover 40,000 square meters of MICE space including a 10,000-square meter exhibition and conference hall. It will also be home to the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena for concerts and sporting events.
Galaxy Macau’s current hotel brands include The Ritz-Carlton Macau, Banyan Tree Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, Galaxy Hotel and Broadway Hotel.
