This year’s MGS Summit, part of MGS Entertainment Show at The Venetian Macao, will bring together key industry minds to discuss a range of topical issues.
Since the launch of MGS Entertainment Show – originally known as Macao Gaming Show – in 2013, the associated MGS Summit has built a reputation as a key information platform for the local gaming industry, bringing together some of Macau and Asia’s biggest names and brightest minds to analyze important industry issues.
Recent years have seen the likes of DICJ Director Paulo Martins Chan, MGM China Co-Chairperson and Executive Director Pansy Ho, and Sands China Executive Director and President Dr Wilfred Wong take the stage. MGS Summit has also boasted a unique ability to attract the heads of Macau’s biggest junkets – Suncity Group’s Alvin Chau, Tak Chun’s Levo Chan, Meg-Star Group’s Thomas Pang and David Group’s Weena Sae-Kee among others.
This year, the line-up of speakers will include leaders of Japan’s burgeoning IR industry, including government officials, ahead of the expected selection of the country’s first three integrated resorts in 2020.
“This year we will continue to invite these speakers to share their opinions regarding some of the potential ‘hot spots’ for their IR development locations in which we believe IRs in Japan will continue to be a main focus globally,” said Jay Chun, Chairman of MGS organizer, the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association.
Chun also pointed to a focus on topics about “how to maximize unique resource advantages and participate in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and ‘Belt and Road’ development.”
The Greater Bay Area is currently scheduled to be the primary point of discussion across multiple panels on the morning of MGS Summit Day 1, Tuesday 12 November 2019, with Japan to follow in the afternoon.
Topics for the following days include the diversification of Macau’s economy, future direction of Electronic Gaming Machines, industry innovations and eSports.
Discussion of eSports will form the crux of Day 2 of the Global Digital Entertainment Summit, co-organized by MGS and Sina Games Channel, which is set to run concurrently with MGS Summit across all three days.
The Global Digital Entertainment Summit “aims to create a professional and authoritative communication platform for both gaming and e-sports industries,” according to Chun.
