MGM Resorts Japan has announced that it will sponsor of the 10th Yosakoi Osaka Tournament as part of the Dotonbori River Festival 2019 on 12 and 13 October.

The Dotonbori River Festival is Osaka’s largest festival, bringing together Osaka’s culture, entertainment and food. In addition to traditional performing arts such as Bunraku, Rakugo and Japanese drums, there are other typical Osaka attractions like comedy, dance, yosakoi (a type of dance) and food.

MGM Resorts Japan will be a sponsor of the event for the third year running. It is part of their ongoing activities to contribute to the local community. Jason Hyland, president of MGM Resorts Japan, commented, “We are very honored to be able to participate in this festival of the city that represents the Osaka area.

“Personally, I love the traditional performing arts of Japan, including yosakoi, and I’m excited to be a part of this.”

The event will be held depending on the weather, as an out-of-season typhoon approaches Japan.
