Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho has led a team of senior executives on a visit to Zhuhai as part of an initiative to gain a better understanding of opportunities within the Greater Bay Area, the company has announced.
The visit is one of a number Melco is planning in the coming months, including trips to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, as part of an initiative called “Splendors of China.”
The Zhuhai trip saw Ho and 12 Melco executives meet with representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR before visiting the Hengqin integrated tourism and entertainment project Novotown, including the Lionsgate Entertainment World and National Geographic Ultimate Explorer located within the complex. The team also visited Gree Electric Appliances’ headquarters in Zhuhai.
“As one of the largest corporations in Macau, visiting our neighboring city of Zhuhai to learn about its impressive developments over the past few years, as well as the city’s positioning within the Greater Bay Area, has been inspirational,” said Ho.
“We are grateful for the Liaison Office’s support to enable this invaluable opportunity and we look forward to contributing further towards the Greater Bay Area’s developments with Melco’s world-class hospitality and entertainment offerings.”
Melco described “Splendors of China” as a learning program about China’s cultural heritage, history and modernization aimed at helping staff better understand and deliver Melco’s “service promise” to Mainland Chinese customers.
