The AGEM Index – a monthly stock performance guide comprising 13 global gaming suppliers and produced by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers – booked a 5.8% increase in September, driven by a strong performance from IGT and Konami.
The composite index stood at 500.69 points at the close of the month, representing a 1.6% increase over September 2018 and 5.8% increase over August.
IGT was the best performer throughout the month, with an 18.6% sequential increase in its stock price helping boost the AGEM Index by 8.14 points, while Japanese manufacturer Konami saw its stock price jump 8.4%, adding 6.5 points to the index. Scientific Games also enjoyed a 10.1% stock price rise, contributing 2.89 points.
It proved to be a strong month for the 13 gaming stocks under the AGEM Index, which outperformed many other similar industry monitors. They included the Dow Jones Industrial Average which rose 2.0%, the S&P 500 which grew 1.7% and the Nasdaq Index which increased by a modest 0.5%.
