Caesars Entertainment Corp has announced that its long-time Executive Vice President, Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility, Jan Jones Blackhurst, has joined the Board of Directors.
Blackhurst, best known as the first female mayor of Las Vegas between 1991 and 1999, replaces Richard Schifter who resigned his position last week.
The move will see the 70-year-old step down from her Executive VP role from 1 October 2019 after 20 years with the company, in which time she oversaw a range of Corporate Social Responsibility programs including diversity in the workforce.
Speaking with Inside Asian Gaming in a recent interview in Japan, Blackhurst discussed at length Caesars’ own efforts to promote gender diversity in executive positions.
Her elevation to the Board of Directors comes as the company looks to complete its US$17.8 billion merger with Eldorado Resorts.
