Universal Entertainment Corporation has announced the development and release of two new technologies – a “Multi Currency System” and a “Slot Program Play System” – at its Philippines integrated resort, Okada Manila.
According to Universal, the Multi Currency System is a real-time automatic money exchange system enabling EGMs to accept bills from various countries in order to save the time and effort of currency exchange.
Developed in accordance with PAGCOR guidelines, it will convert any accepted currency inserted to Philippines Pesos at the predetermined exchange rate at the same time it is inserted into the EGM, “which will improve casino players’ convenience and at the same time significantly reduce the personnel cost associated with the money exchange services,” Universal said.
It also announced the development of what it says is the industry’s first system enabling EGMs to be installed with preferred customer service functions, which is now in operation at Okada Manilla.
“The Slot Program Play System makes it possible to provide preferred customer services independently configured by casino operators to players who insert a certain amount of money or more in a casino slot machine within a certain period of time,” Universal said. “It does so by systemizing the rolling programs that have been conventionally administered as preferred customer services at baccarat and other table games.
“At present, this system has been installed in casino slot machines placed on the VIP floor of Okada Manila, offering players with free gameplay and point rewards. The company is considering to expand the areas where the system is operated going forward.”
Universal added that it is the company’s intention to “leverage to the maximum extent its proprietary technological development prowess as a manufacturer of amusement machines for the Japanese market and the advantages that it enjoys as the parent of a corporate group containing an IR casino operator in order to expand its casino-related operations going forward.”
