Meg-Star International has launched a new VIP gaming facility focusing on high-stakes poker at Macau Jockey Club Casino.
Located within Macau Roosevelt Hotel, Poker Time Club is a collaboration between Meg-Star International and Switzerland’s Swiss Time Group and described as the only large Texas Hold’em Poker Club in the world to offer a top-level watch appreciation service.
Its features include five ring-shaped VIP rooms primarily designated for poker plus two baccarat tables, an open-air lounge and various leisure facilities. Stakes on the poker tables are said to range from HK$300/$600 to HK$5,000/HK$10,000.
Poker Time Club covers the space formerly occupied by the casino’s mass gaming floor, marking a shift to a VIP-only gaming property.
Located alongside Macau’s horse racing track, the Macau Roosevelt Hotel has always been difficult to access for the influx of mass tourists heading to the Cotai Strip, making it more naturally attuned to the high-end visitor. A shift towards the VIP market was therefore a natural step.
When it opened its doors in 2017, Macau Roosevelt Hotel included VIP facilities run by junket operator David Group, with Tak Chun Group taking over nine months later. The arrival of Meg-Star International and Poker Time Club now erases the last trace of mass gaming in the casino.
Friday’s opening ceremony was presided by Meg-Star CEO Ben Leong alongside brand ambassador Cheung Chi Lam of Meg-Star Group and Michael Zhao, Director of Swiss Time Group.
