Korea’s Paradise Co Ltd continued its strong start to 2019 with casino revenue rising 18.5% to KRW61.43 billion (US$52.2 million) in May.
The growth came entirely on the back of table game performance, which saw a 21.8% improvement over the same period last year to KRW57.76 billion (US$49.1 million), with slot machine revenue falling 17% to KRW3.68 billion. May’s casino revenue also represented a 7.5% increase on April numbers.
Casino revenue could have shown even stronger growth had luck played in Paradise’s favor: table drop for the month was up 28.2% year-on-year to KRW609.09 billion (US$517.7 million), taking the five-month total to start 2019 to KRW 2.85 trillion.
Casino revenue for the first five months of the year is up 17.5% to KRW279.96 billion.
Paradise operates four casinos in South Korea – Paradise City in Incheon, Walkerhill, Jeju Grand and Busan Casino.
