Philippines real estate developer Megaworld has announced plans to build two new residential projects in the 31-hectare Westside City precinct in Manila’s Entertainment City.
The new projects will see the number of units in the township – which forms part of Travellers International Hotel Group’s Westside City Resorts World development – increase by more than 50% from its current 3,500 units to around 5,400.
In a Thursday announcement, Megaworld said the residential projects will include the 15-storey South Beach Place, comprising 582 units, with direct access to the Westside City Resorts World complex, while Sunny Coast Residential Resort will feature two 21-storey towers with a combined 1,309 residential units. All will be completed by 2024.
Megaworld is set to invest around Php64 billion (US$1.23 billion) into Westside City in the next 10 years with Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. committing Php57 billion (US$1.1 billion) into Westside City Resorts World.
Travellers, which operates Resorts World Manila, is a joint venture between Genting Hong Kong and Alliance Global Group.
Megaworld is also developing two new hotel brands in Westside City – the 529-room Kingsford Hotel and 685-room Grand Westside Hotel – both of which will be linked directly to the casino complex.
