Tokyo played host to a key briefing on Wednesday in anticipation of the first ever “Kansai Integrated Resort Industrial Exhibition”, set to take place in Osaka on 15 to 16 May. The same briefing was held in Osaka in December last year.
This exhibition will be held by an executive committee made of event companies and the like with support from the Kansai Economic Federation, Kansai Association of Corporate Executives and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry among others. There are expected to be 200 exhibitors from both inside and outside of Japan and around 10,000 visitors.
This is the first IR-only industry exhibition to be held in Japan and in addition to IR operators, exhibiting corporations will include construction, accommodation, F&B, tourism and entertainment companies. There will also be regional municipalities in the IR bid race, government and media
This exhibition will take place in the wake of the successful “First Kansai IR Showcase” held in April 2018. Seven overseas IR operators have already confirmed their exhibits – Caesars Entertainment, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Genting Singapore, Las Vegas Sands, Melco Resorts and Entertainment, MGM Resorts International and Wynn Resorts.
