Macau International Airport (MIA) has announced that it will add four new routes in December to cater to increased demand over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
The new routes include the planned inauguration of regular flights from Kunming to Macau by China Eastern Airlines, while Air Asia has already commenced regular flights between Macau and Krabi in Thailand from 1 December. Jeju Air has also commenced a regular flight service between Macau and Taegu while Cebu Pacific Air is planning to launch regular flights from Cebu to Macau.
The four routes follow the addition of direct flights from Xi’an to Macau on 22 November.
In an announcement, MIA said it will continue to cooperate with airlines to strengthen the frequency of existing routes and endeavor to expand air services network to provide more travel options for Macau residents and travelers.
It added that some airlines will add extra flights to and from Taiwan and Southeast Asia during the holiday period.
