Korea’s state mint, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, has announced that it will produce casino chips for foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure.
The two state-run entities signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday that will see Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation take over manufacture of the gaming operator’s casino currency utilizing its “advanced anti-forgery technology.”
The mint is best known for printing Korea’s official banknotes and coins.
According to the official announcement, it will incorporate its latest technological developments into GKL’s new lines of casino chips including three-dimensional security technology and sensitive materials similar to those used in Korean currency.
