Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) has become the latest Macau operator to introduce a new energy shuttle bus service.
The buses will begin operations in May, with the number of new energy buses to be increased in phases.
In its announcement, SJM said the introduction of the buses “demonstrates the support of SJM to the Secretariat for Transport and Public Works and the Transport Bureau of Macau SAR Government in achieving the target of gradually replacing the entire shuttle bus fleet of casino operators by new energy buses for the improvement of street-level air quality in Macau.”
SJM will run its new energy shuttle bus service with electric buses and compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, some of which have provisions for standing passengers for extra capacity.
The company said it will pay close attention to the operation of this new shuttle bus service and review its effects in close coordination with the Macau authorities. world-class green tourism city.
There will be a total of seven SJM new energy buses in the first phase.
